Sue Bown was elected chair of the Motor Accident Solicitors Society (MASS) in October 2021. She previously held the role between November 2014 and November 2016. Sue has also served as vice chair and been a member of the MASS management committee since 2012. She is a director of Claims Portal and MedCo. She has been a regular commentator and speaker on legal issues for a number of years.
Sue qualified as a legal executive in 1994 and as a solicitor in 1996. She is also a qualified mediator. She has specialised in personal injury work since 1990, spending 13 years at Reid Minty, where from 1996 to 2003 she was the personal injury and professional negligence partner, and four years on the defendant side with Royal & Sun Alliance Legal. She was a director of Prolegal between 2007 and 2016, where she had overall responsibility for personal injury claims and personally handled catastrophic injury, clinical negligence, and professional negligence claims.
She is on the LexisNexis editorial board for personal injury and is a contributing author for LexisNexis.
